A Grandmother's Love
Author: Karen Mortensen

As children, we can't comprehend or fully realize the meaning of a grandmother's love. How wise she is, how much patience she has, or how much guidance she gives us by her example and by her helpful caring ways. Years go by before we know and understand the depth of her concern and the love in her protectiveness. But as we mature we do finally understand and we can look back and see through older eyes and wiser hearts her unconditional love, devotion, and family loyalty. It's these and many other things that make us realize how lucky we have been and how lucky we are to have this amazing woman - our grandmother - as the centered root of strength and love in our life.

I love you Mam-Maw you will be forever missed....

Little House is done

Well Tim and the boys have finished the little house...as Zach calls it. Tim has worked really hard the last few days to get it done. Luckily he got more help in the form of Brenden yesterday and today. We were glad to see him but he was probably wishing he didn't come.

Zach started this morning calling for his daddy because he was ready to go out and help him and brother. I was on the phone with my dad in my room and I could hear Zach saying daddy.. daddy.. daddy when I went into the kitchen this is what I saw..

He can't get his jeans which are in his closet so he got his little pants as he called them...

Once we got a nap and it got a little warmer I took him outside to help.

It wasn't all work.. we have to play with Zoe too..

and the finished project.

Daddy's little helper

When we got home today Tim was working on his latest project which is a little building in the backyard to put the lawnmower and etc in. As soon as Zach saw he was working with tools he had to get out there and help.

Monster Jam and Nolan

Saturday night we went to the Monster Jam at Reliant Stadium. Ms. Terra went with us and we had bought a ticket for Brenden but he had an UIL event and was unable to go with us so we asked if Nolan could go with us. Boy did we have fun with two little boys! They both yelled screamed and cheered on the trucks and the motorcycles. The monster trucks did most of the show with wheelie, Cyclone and Freestyle competitions. Then they also had the world’s fastest ATV’s – with actual jet engines installed..these were a little loud for me and Nolan but Zach loved them and wanted to ride them. They also had a Robosaurus which was like a fire spitting transformer. We all really had a great time and will definitly be doing this again. I took lots of pictures.

Nolan stayed the night since it was late before we got home and boy did they remind me of my cousin Sandra (Nolan's mom) and me when we were little girls staying at my Mam-Maw or at each other's houses. I let the boys stay up super late since I figured they never get to spent the night with each other and they don't get to see each other as much as they did when they were in T-ball. So they stayed up giggling, laughing and talking and finally around 3 o'clock I wentin the room and they were sleeping. Funny thing is as late as they stayed up they were awake and playing at 7:30.. can you believe! So I got up with them and we played the Wii, Power Rangers and Peter Pan & Captain Hook. It was so much fun having the both of them and we can't wait to do it again soon!

New faucet

Tim has been looking for a new faucet for us for the kitchen and well today he went and got it for us. I love the fact that I now have a sprayer.. it is the little things. I miss not having one and when they built the house they didn't put one in and they didn't have a place where you could add one. So the faucet he found was one of those that has the sprayer on the faucet how great huh!

Thank You Tim!!

Zoe
I had to take a picture of our pretty little girl. She loves for it to be cold outside because that means she gets to come inside and hang out with us. She is an outside dog but when she comes in she gets spoiled. We keep the TV on for her we don't want her to get scared.. we even have been known to move her cage so she can see TV. Well she was sleeping and I had to get a picture of her. She is so sweet!

Well tomorrow is Friday..TGIF!! We are going to hang out with Mam-maw tomorrow night at my mom and dad's which should be nice...please pray for her she could still use everyones prayers. Then Saturday will be a long day Tim and Zach are going to work in the morning while I go to a committee meeting for NADOA then Saturday night we are going to see the Monster Jam!! Should be fun we took Zach last year and he loved it.. planning on taking some pictures while we are there so I will post some later.

Well take care and have a great weekend! I'm sure I will post some stuff this weekend.

Cupcakes!!

Yesterday when we were seeing Gram-maw, Dzia Dzia, and Mam-Maw Zach got a cupcake mix from Gram-maw he was so excited. Tim got us some icing this morning at Wal-Mart and so this afternoon after his nap we made cupcakes and then before dinner we got the icing and sprinkles put on them. Zach loved making the cupcakes but really loved putting the sprinkles on.

Thanks Dad for taking our pictures!!

Santa Plate

So the other night we were at the table and Tim had gotten plate for us to eat on and well he just grabbed plates and didn't think about it. Well when Zach got to the table he got really mad when he saw which plate Tim had.. it was Santa's plate. Tim told him it was no big deal that he could eat on it but Zach was not having it so Tim had to get another plate to make Zach happy. It was so funny that I had to laugh, really I guess it was my fault this happened I keep all of my little "seasonal" plates at the top of the cabinet where I can't reach them while I didn't say anything and put it on the counter and I guess Tim put it with the small plates to put it up and didn't think about it going up higher so he just grabbed it that night with the small plates for us. We just couldn't believe how upset Zach got about it and he was not going to except Tim using it.

Today Zach and I went to the Creekside neighborhood near The Woodlands. It was so much fun and Zach loved getting to play on both of the playgrounds. We will have to do this again soon.
