6th annual Step Forward to cure TSC

Taken in 2008 at our 5th Annual Step Forward to cure TSC

Wow it is that time again already to start fundraising for our 6th annual Step Forward to cure TSC. As many of you know we have been involved in every walk since the beginning and have enjoyed every minute of it. It is always very important for Tim and I to be involved in this event since it helps my beautiful cousin Skylar who will be turning the big 1-0 this year... My cousin and her husband found out Sky as we call her had Tuberous Sclerosis when she was just 6 months old.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. You will see it referred to both as tuberous sclerosis (TS) and tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). The term TSC is used in scientific literature to distinguish tuberous sclerosis complex from Tourette's syndrome.

Current estimates place tuberous sclerosis complex-affected births at one in 6,000. Nearly 1 million people worldwide are known to have TSC, with approximately 50,000 in the United States

Tuberous sclerosis complex is transmitted either through genetic inheritance or as a spontaneous genetic mutation. Children have a 50 percent chance of inheriting TSC if one of their parents has this condition. At this point, only one-third of TSC cases are known to be inherited. The other two-thirds are believed to be a result of spontaneous mutation. The cause of these mutations is still a mystery.

I know times are tough now and I understand if this is something you can't do right now but even a $1 helps and I would be greatful for anything you could afford.

If you would like to donate please see my homepage. Thank you so much for your support these past 6 years!

Busy day....

We really had a busy day this Saturday, we had T-ball at 9, then a shower for Sandra and Kaylee and then Brenden had a Go Texan Parade in Conroe that we didn't find out about until Friday. T-ball was really good Zach learned about tagging people out which he didn't do at the Y so it was neat to him they would have the boys run from 2nd base to third and there would be a boy on third base that would catch the ball from coach who was on home plate once he caught he would try to get the boy running out. Zach did really well he got to the base with out getting tagged the first time he ran and then when he was on third base he wasn't quite sure about tagging them out so he was going to throw to first base just like he was told to do at the Y but then he got the concept and he did well. They also let them hit some and he seemed to do better I thought he was a little intemidated before but he was hitting pretty good yesterday. After practice Tim took me to the shower and him and Zach went to his work. The shower was really nice it was just a few of her friends so I knew everyone except one person. It was nice to see all her (and my) friends. Tim and Zach came and picked me up after the shower and then we were off to Conroe for the Go Texan parade. The cold front came right as we were leaving the shower so when we got out it Conroe it was really cold. The parade was really good and Brenden and the band sounded really good. We went and picked up Brenden after the parade and he came home with us so we could get all of the slient auction stuff together. We did a John Deere basket that turned out really good and a photo album with pictures that I had taken of Marching Season. We did a few more things hopefully we will do well the auction is the same day as Zach's Grand Slam day for T-ball and the money they raise will go toward their Disney trip in May.

Well I took LOTS of pictures but here are a few.

Happy Monday

Well it is Monday and it wasn't too bad. Zach spent the night with Aunt Deb and Uncle Jon last night so I got a little more sleep this morning and work was work. They had a great day she took him to get donuts this morning which is his favorite breakfast these days. Then they went to the movie and saw Dog Hotel he thought it was really good and loved his popcorn and pepper. She brought him to me before work was over. He really enjoyed spending time with his Aunt Debbie today, he can't wait for her to have another day off.

Thanks Aunt Deb for our cookie (he got a bite before I could get a picture)

Thanks Gram-Maw for the Valentines balloon!

Valentines was really nice Zach got me some chocolates (that he loves to eat) and Tim got me some tulips which are my favorite! That day we had T-ball practice in the morning and then we went to lunch at Pappasitos (which is one of my favorite Valentine places...really anytime...to eat). I took some pictures of my flowers.

2nd T-ball practice

Zach had his 2nd practice today, he did really well they worked on the same things they had worked on the first night and then they added running to first base from home plate. He is still really enjoying the new T-ball experience. We told him that in a couple of weeks he would get to be in a parade and he thought that was pretty neat. I think I forgot to tell y'all that he is on the Dodgers which he is still telling us the Chargers.. he is still thinking football teams..

How cute is he in his big baseball player outfit.. we got him some new stuff for him before the first practice he told us that he was now a big baseball player, he was walking around like he was big stuff it was so cute.

Hope you had a good Valentine's day.. Zach just gave Tim and me massages and now he has his tools out and is working on Tim.. to funny!

Yeah well my daddy's a deer hunter

The other day when I walked in daycare the two women that are always up front were laughing and saying you will never believe what Zach said today then they told me they had a police officer come with his motorcycle and vistit the kids and tell them about being a policemen. So his teacher Ms. Kim told them that her dad was also a police officer and then kid told them that his dad was one also and so Zach says yeah well my daddy's a deer hunter... I was laughing and then I told them well I guess that is better then him telling them what he really does and they go what is that and I said he sells beer...they just laughed harder! That funny Zachary!

1st T-ball practice at Tomball

Well we had our first T-ball practice at Tomball Little League. It was really fun but boy those boys were big! Zach was put in the 5 year olds (long story) so the boys are quite a bit bigger then him in fact he is the shortest and skinniest. But I think he will do ok as long as he doesn't try to be a superhero and catch all of the balls. I got a few pictures but didn't take a whole lot and didn't get my flash out so the pictures are a little dark but I wanted to meet the other moms. I think we are really going to like it there just the first practice was way different then when we were at the Y which was never organized. It was great and all of the parents seemed really nice.

Cookies and Pizza

Today we just relaxed around the house, Tim has been wanting to make some tortilla soup and he found a recipe so Zach and I went and got stuff along with the other groceries we needed so while we were shopping we decided that we should make some sugar cookies and pizza. I saw on our friend Abbie's blog that they had made some pizza and I thought that might be neat for Zach since he always wants to help cook. So we made the cookies first and they turned out yummy! Then I helped Tim with the soup and then it was on to the pizza he had a great time putting the cheese and pepperoni on it. It turn out really good! Thanks for the idea Abbie & Paige!

We don't have any pictures of Tim's soup (he said it was pretty good) but here are some pictures of the cookies and pizza.

Bolivar/Crystal Beach, TX

Today we had a family day we started off going to the cememary to see Mam-maw and put her some flowers out and then we went down to Galvestion to see the damage. It was very hard to see poles and no houses or half houses and cars all messed up. 5 months later and it still looks like a war zone. It was really hard for me to see where my granny and paw-paw had their beach house (they sold it a few years ago). The house was still there but the house across the street where I remember so many times when we would be down there that this house would be full of people was gone. I took quite a few pictures I thought I would share some.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Last night Zach and I signed some card for Tim so when he woke up this morning he would have something to open from us. So I took him in our room and got Zach to sign Dad on the envelope (I wanted daddy but he wrote to big) and Zachary in the card. So after I told Zach that he needed to go and tell Tim good night so he ran in the livingroom and goes I wrote you name daddy.. I go Zach get back over here and all he could do is keep saying I wrote your name and just was laughing.. it was really cute even though Tim knew what we were doing. Oh well!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Rough week

This has really been a rough week on me I loved my Mam-maw so much and God broke the mold when he made her. It still feels like a dream to me

I did get a new cousin the day before she passed for those of you how know my cousin Sandra she came to see Mam-Maw in the hospital and then was rushed to have little baby Kaylee. She had been having some issues and was on bed rest but I guess everything with Mam-Maw just got to her. She had Kaylee around 10 Sunday night and then my Mam-Maw passed away after seeing a picture of her at 3 in the morning on Monday. Funny how life is we were blessed with a beautiful healthy baby cousin and our wonderful beautiful Mam-Maw was taken away from us with in hours.

I just love babies feet...

Look at that little smile

Look at that proud Big Brother Nolan

I also got to see my cousin and his family in fact they stayed with us so I had to get some pictures of the kids.
