Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everybody! (And Happy Birthday Mommy aka..Gram-maw!!!) Zach had a blast this year being Darth Vader.  We had Eric and Erin come again this year to go trick or treating with us. They had a good time walking the neighborhood.  They got LOTS of candy which they were very happy about. Didn't get the best picture of Zach in his outfit.  I might get a better one this weekend but this will do for now.

Eric and Erin helped their mom make a couple of Jack-O-Laterns..  They brought them for us to put by our door for the night.. aren't they cute.

Hope you and your family had a Happy and Safe Halloween!!!

Trunk or Treat!

Friday night Zach's Taekwondo place had a Trunk or Treat where some of the parents decorate their trunks of their cars and the kids get to trick or treat out of them.  So I ask Sandra if Nolan and Kaylee would like to go with us and they did.  We got there a little late so the kids didn't get to do all the cars but they did get to do a couple and see the costume contest where little Elvis won..  here are a few of the pictures I took.

It was a fun night and glad they got to come with us!

Zachary hunting photoshot

Zach looked so cute in his hunting clothes and I thought it would be the perfect time to take a few pictures of him.  Here are a few of my sweet little boy.

We had to get a funny one..

The stick is his gun that he has had for a couple of years now.. they make sure it is put away between seasons so nothing happens to it.

Deer lease - bow season trip #2

So this weekend we were back out to the deerlease.. I was determined to finally get some good pictures of the nice bucks we have.  But first I had to start taking pictures of the cows.. I don't know what it is about them.. they are so cute and so photogentic.. (did I spell that right?)

It's he cute..

I couldn't help it but this reminded me of a "What's for dinner" commerical!  Isn't he cute!!

and this one isn't he cute too..

But not as cute as this one!!

It was time to go hunting.... this time I took an extra battery with me just in case.. remember last time

first thing I saw was two doe.  I thought it was really interesting that at the beginning of the month when we were here there was no water in the tank dam but this week look at this it was deep to touch her belly.. and this was not even the deepest point.

Yes that is a 10 pt!!

I think these next ones are the same 10 pt but I couldn't confirm that..

This was an 8 pt... it reminds me of those old 70's photos of deer..

While I was waiting for deer I decided to experiment with the shutter speed on my camera and the self timer.. the shutter speed was set at 1/15 (very slow) and it is on the 2 sec timer.. this was as the sun was going down.
This was set at the same shutter speed as the sun was setting.. what a difference.. love the reflection on the water in this one.

Savannah!

Last week I got the chance to go to Savannah, GA for work.  It was a great trip and I learned a lot!  I also did well with the class I taught but the best part was getting to take pictures of the city.  I really wish I would have had one more day to get some of the beautiful homes this city has but I was able to get lots of pictures from the balcony of my hotel.  It was really neat big ships would come right through and blow their horns at 1:30 in the morning.  Here are just a few of the photos I took I will try to put them all out on the smugmug site in the next few days so keep a look out. (click on the smugmug link on the right side of this page)

For our Thursday night social it was on to the Roundhouse which had trains it was really neat to see.

Friday night we went on a haunted house tour.  Did you know that Savannah is the most haunted city?  We didn't get to get out except at one place.. but I did get some orbs as they call them.. check this out.. see those little spots.. that is it.. they claim that is spirts.. I'm not sure I believe that but it is strange..

I also learn to take those beautiful night pictures.. I still need a little practice but I think for the first time they came out great.. love the color on the water!

The dome was made from real gold.. it is city hall..

This was the back of our hotel

The last morning I wanted to get a few more pictures.. we heard that this boat wasn't as old as it looked that it was recently redone.

Hopefully one day I will get a chance to go back and see more of the houses and eat some more of those delicious pralines.. oh I can taste them!!

Sam Houston vs Stephen F. Austin

This weekend was the biggest game of the year!  It was the annual SHSU vs SFA game.  This is the big rivalry game.  Who ever wins gets bragging rights for the year.  You may remember last year when SFA won by just 3 points. You also may remember Zach and Tim going for SFA but this year we all were for Sam (well Tim still rooted for SFA just in a Sam shirt).  This year was extra special since we had brother out on the field at half time!  We got to see brother before the game so we had to get a few pictures with him!

Alums and future Alum..

I feel bad as Brenden was leaving I realized I should have gotten one of him and Tim.. oops..I feel bad I didn't think about that.

So it was game time!

Sammy was getting excited!  Lumberjacks made a field goal.. but we came back with a touchdown!

Halftime!!

It was a great show!!  They did only a portion of their show and they did the new part.

The bearkats came back from halftime and fought HARD!!!!

 Touchdown!!!

We WON!!!!
