Sundance Square - Ft. Worth

We went to see Sam Houston Baseball team at the NCAA Ft. Worth Regionals a couple of weeks ago and we had a little time before one of the games so we went into Ft. Worth and checked out Sundance Square in the heart of downtown.  The last time we went we checked out the stockyards and had a blast but we wanted to see something different this time.

Walking we found my favorite radio station that I listen to on a app.. Called 95.9 The Ranch they play Texas County Music...

Then we found the Rangers Store.. you know we had to stop in and get a baseball shirt for Zach.

We also had to stop in the Dallas Cowboy store to pick something up for Aunt Deb!

Down the street from this you can see the Tarent County Courthouse.. You know how I love courthouses.. I didn't get a great full photo of it but like what I got.

It was a fun little side trip.

Trick or Treat!

This halloween was the first one in our new neighborhood so we didn't know what to expect.  We ended up trick or treating with our neighbors their friend.  Zach was thrilled to hear that was who we were going with.  So we went down our street and around the back.  It was so much fun and there were a lot of people out.  This was their first time to walk the streets so they didn't know what to expect either.  We learned that next year we were going to hook the trailer up to the 4 wheeler and go down the street.  Talking to my mom yesterday she said she had heard on TV that there was a haunted house in Magnolia but they didn't say where.. come to find out as we were walking we found out that it was in our neighborhood!! So the boys found out and we decided after we were done we would take them to see it.  It was really neat!  It was a ship that was the size of our drive way and ours can fit 6 vehicles so that tells you it was nice size.  They said it took him 9 weeks to build.  It was so cool and the boys were excited when they saw it.  So we went through and I'm not going to say they were scared but there were a few things that surprised them.  They wanted to go again but it was getting late so we didn't.

This morning as Zach was getting ready he goes this was the best Halloween ever!  It was cute.

Youth Weekend

This past weekend was Texas Youth weekend for hunting.  It is a great chance for the kids to get a buck for the woods get shot up on opening weekend by the adults.  So Tim got Zach out of school early and they picked me up from work and we were on our way to the lease.. it is about a 5 hour trip.. but us leaving so early meant we didn't get there at midnight like we have done many times before.  Saturday morning they got up early but came home with nothing.  Tim said they didn't even see anything.  We ate breakfast, got some deer corn from the store ate lunch, and then it was out for the afternoon hunt.  I decided to stay back at the trailer since it looked like it was going to rain I didn't want to get my camera out.  Well as I sat there I saw the lightening and heard the thunder and got worried especially after the lights started to go out.  Meanwhile, they had saw a 10 point well they were in the stand but it was not acting right and left so Zach couldn't get a good shot on it.   They also noticed the weather and Tim said Zach was counting in-between the thunder and lightening and knew that it was about 2 miles away.  Once Tim got a warning on his phone from weather channel he decided it was time to come in.  

The boys did get back and we did everything we could to get everything outside put up and away from the trees.  I wasn't sure if we were going to leave or what but Tim thought we were better off staying and not getting into the mess.  We didn't get lights back until 8:30 but the weather didn't get better it was bad pretty much all night.

This morning they woke up early again and out to the stand.  They went back to the one they were at last night hoping that the 10 point would come back.. That one didn't but another one did.  Tim got Zach ready and Zach got him!  Tim said he had to shoot him at an angle but he did good.  I could tell he was pretty proud of him.  Last year my father in law was with him when he got his two deer so this was the first time for Tim to see him do it.  They came back to the trailer around 9:30 and I could see Zach's little smiling face and then I could see the deer following them behind the 4 wheeler.  He was so excited and couldn't wait to show me.  We of course took pictures!  If you don't like blood you might want to skip them... but it is worth a look to see that little smile!

AR Award

Friday before last Zach had Moms & Muffins and book fair on the same day.  It happened to be my Friday off so he was excited that I was going to get to come.  But he really got excited when he found out that he was getting his first AR Award.  You get them for reading and answering questions on the books you read.  After you get your first 5 points you get your award and they give it out in front of the whole school at morning assembly.  It just so happened that he was getting it on that same Friday so he told me I had to stay so I could see him get the award.  Of course I wouldn't miss that!  I had never been to the assembly so I didn't know what to expect but it was really neat they do the pledges, tell the lunch menu, give out birthday awards and all kinds of cool things.. it is a great start to the day.  At the end was when they did the award.. Zach was so cute and excited to get his.  I'm so proud of him.  The new school seems to be a great fit for him.

Hello!  Hope I still have readers out there.. I know I haven't been very good with this.. I just don't know where the time goes at night!  I get home, do homework, cook and then it seems it is time to go to bed.  Well they past few months have also been very busy!  We have moved to Magnolia which we LOVE!  Zach started a new school.  Brenden started his 3rd year of SHSU (can you believe!).  Football season started.. oh and Tim and I have have been busy at work.  But we are all doing well.  I thought I would share a few pictures of what we have been doing.

Zach turned 9!  He had a Duck Dynasty party.. we had only been in the house 2 weeks..

Goodie Bags.. I made the stickers in Photoshop and bought the ribbon off of Etsy.

 I've learned how to make cake toppers in photoshop.. these were some of my first ones.. I'm so much better at them now!

I had set up a Photo Booth and did some props.

We got to watch our house be built.. here are a few pictures..

Sam Houston Football put on Lil Kats day again where the kids can learn from the coaches and football players.  Zach loves it.

When we went to Zach's open house before school started they had a table to sign up for the Pup Club.  Zach said he wanted to see what was, so we took him over and found out that it is for elementary and middle school kids.  They can run out on the field before the football game under the bulldog.  They got jerseys and they get in the game for free for just $25 which we thought was great.  Zach was so excited!  He loves getting to run out before the football boys.

 Last week when we went to the game Zach wanted a program.. he was excited to find his self in it... do you see him running.. middle left picture.

We've been going to the Sam games..

I have started making wreaths also.. 

So it has been a busy few months.. I will try to do better about keeping this up to date.

1st day of school

Today was Zach's first day at his new school.  He was both excited and nervous.  I was both for him too.. just hope he meets some new friends.  Just hope he has a great year!

First game - against the Rangers

We ended up not having a first game on opening day but we did two days later against the Rangers.  The boys had a great game!  We ended up not even playing an hour because they 10 run ruled them.
