Eric's birthday

Weekend before last was our good friend's son Eric's 8th birthday, if you are a regular to the blog then you probably know Eric.  I always know that when he has his birthday then it is time for me to get ready for Zach's.  This year they did a swimming party and just had a couple of people over.  It was nice to see them and Zach enjoyed swimming!

and we can't forget the cake and ice cream..boy was it good!

Brenden's first apartment

Do you think he is a little excited?

This past Friday we moved Brenden in his first apartment.. I can't believe that first year of college went as fast as it did!  Brenden decided to move to the 3rd floor.. I think after moving everything he realizes this was not smart..but it is done and that is what matters.  I know he is so happy to finally have a place to his self!

Sean turns 1!!

You may remember Baby Sean from last year when he was born.  I took his pictures when he was about a month or so old.  His mommy and daddy worked with me when I was at HighMount.  They are the sweetest couple and I love their little boys!  I can't believe a year has already went by!  Little Sean turned 1 in May but a couple of weeks ago was the first time we were able to get together and get his pictures done.  We decided to do his pictures the same place we did his big brothers 1st birthday.  It was early in the morning and I think he wasn't really feeling it but I think I got a few good ones of him.

July 4th

This year for July 4th Tim work (like he does for most of them) so Zach and I decided to invite Nolan, Kaylee and Sandra to go to the movies with us to see Brave.  It was a cute movie and the boys enjoyed getting to see each other.  Sandra and I enjoyed getting to see each other too and of coarse to see Ms. Kaylee!

When we got home Tim was there so we ate dinner and waited for 7:30 to come so we could go and see some fireworks.  My work offers the employees a chance to see them up close and personnal on top of the tower garage.  The Woodlands has a hugh firework display so Zach was excited to find out we were going to be on top of them.  So we got there and some employees were already there.  We found a great spot and sat and waited.  Let me say we were not disappointed! 

Vacation - First Mel Tillis and Merle Haggard Concert and back to Texas

While we were in Branson I saw a commerical about Merle Haggard coming there that Saturday night well we were leaving Friday so I told Tim that figures!  So Tim got on my ipad and found that he would be in Durant, OK at the Choctaw Casino with Mel Tillis.  I thought that was so funny because the first time my parents took me to Branson we were given a choice who we wanted to see and we picked Mel Tillis.  So we decided that that would be a great place to stop for the night so we got tickets and a room at the casino.   We had a blast at the concert.  We told Zach about Mel Tillis' song "Coca-Cola Cowboy" and Tim told him that his dad used to sing it to his mom (his dad works for Coke dist.)  Luckily he sang it that night so Zach sang along with it.  Merle was really good too and I think Zach enjoyed him too.  This was also Zach's first time to see a casino and boy were his eyes big.. until I told him that the people were losing money.. he didn't like that part. 

Saturday we got up and we happy to get back to Texas!  We decided to give Zach one more first..

Cooper's BBQ at the Stockyards in Ft.Worth.. it was SO GOOD but I have to admit it is even better in Llano!  But we all enjoyed it!

We had a great trip!  We were happy to go on vacation and relax but I think we were happy to get back home too.



Vacation - Cherokee National Museum

 So on our way back home we decided to go down Oklahoma.  Tim's family has Indian in them and so he always tells Zach that he is an IndianPolock so he found out that there was a little town on our way home that has the Cherokee National Museum and that is what Tim believes his family was apart of.  So we though it would be perfect to stop and see.  I think this was a great experience for Zach he was able to see how the Indians lived when they were in the Carolina's and then how they lived after the Trail of Tears and they were moved to Oklahoma.  I'm so happy we did this for Zach.

Vacation - Branson, Missouri

After Little Rock it was on to Branson.  We had a great time going to Dolly's Dixie Stampede, Branson Belle Showboat, Go-Karting, checking out the Fish Hatchery, Hanging out at the condo, swimming at the condo, shopping (well maybe that was just me), putt-putt golfing, going to Branson Landing and going to Sliver Dollar City.  I didn't take as many pictures as I normally do on a trip but there are some.  It was a great week away from everything.  Just what we all needed.  Zach had many first during this week. 

He had his first Rollercoaster ride - and we are not talking about a baby one we are talking about a big boy one!!!  He and I ended up riding twice that day.  The first time he was so excited when he figured out he was tall enough to ride so we got on.. about half way through I look over at him and drule is coming out of his mouth and his head is almost to his knees.. I told him to get his head back!  He didn't scream and his eyes were open through the whole thing.  I was so surprised he did so good... well we get off and I'm telling Tim what he did and well I guess he realized what was being said and I think he got a little scared.. so we ended up have to convience him to do it again.  I told Tim that if we didn't we might not get him back on.. and well it work he got on and this time LOVED IT!  I was so proud of him!!

Zach also got to drive a gokart on his own for the first time.  He was so excited when he realized he was tall enough to do this.  The coarse he drove on only went in a circle but he didn't care.  The first time it was just him the next time it was him and 3 others and let me just say the boy has watched too much NASCAR! He was blocking like a pro.. but the boy behind him was frustrated.. I think he would have beat Zach up if he thought he could get away with it.  He had a great time.

We also went and checked out the Fish Hatchery by the damn.  It was really cool to see all of the fish.
