Spring Break - Day two..batting cages

So the next day Sherry and I decided to take the kids to the batting cages in Palestine.  This was Zach's first time at the batting cages so it took a little bit for him to get used to but I think once he got the hang of it he loved it.  It is at an arcade which you know that means we also had to play some games.

How sweet.. Zach loves Rylan...

They were playing Deal or No Deal.. these kids were good they should have been on the show.. they won 200 tickets (top prize) twice!

So glad we were able to hang out with them it was so much fun!

Spring Break - day one fishing

Can you believe week befor last was Spring Break???  Where has this school year gone?  Zach ended up going to daycare Monday through Wednesday then Tim was able to take off Thursday and Friday so he was with him.  I had a project at work so I didn't get to get off until Friday but it worked out well.   Thursday Brenden came to the house and stay with us until Sunday.. Tim and I wanted to get a way but we weren't sure where to go we looked at Austin, San Antonio and Dallas but decided to go and hang out with our friends in Palestine.  We woke up early Friday morning and set out for our trip.  We got there early we went by our friend's house and all decided we were going to go fishing with the kids.  So the guys went first so they could catch some perch so we would be set when we came fishing.  The kids had a good time playing out by the pond and of coarse doing a little fishing.. Alan was the only one lucky enough to get anything.. oh well it was good to hang out with them!

I hate that Kara is not in focus but I love this picture with her smiling and Hannah and Rylan's expressions..

First Game as an Astro!

First Game!!!!  It was pretty interesting.. I love opening day of the season.  The kids are excited and not quite sure what they are supposed to do.. and this year was no different but our team did get into it by the end of the game.  They had some great plays and even some pretty good hits.  This year we are machine pitch and it seems more offical about everything.. we even have real umpires.. Zach is batter number 1... is first up to bat he got out.. 2nd up to bat.. a line drive to right field.. he got on first... stole 2nd and was run in for a run!!!  He was our first score!  He was excited!  I'm in the dugout with the boys and when he came in.. he jumped in my arms.. it was cute and sweet.. His 3rd up to bat he got out again.. On Defense he is our catcher this year... and he LOVES it.. the boy is not afraid of the ball!  Of coarse Tim and I got him a good catcher outfit so when it hits him he doesn't really feel it.  Either way he is a brave little boy!  He stopped many balls even catching one in his glove.  But what was really impressive was him catching the bunt.  He did a good job for his first game.  We didn't win (Rangers 11 - Astros 4) but I think they had a great time.

And Zach going into homeplate for our 1st run!!!

Grand Slam Parade 2012

Today was the annual Grand Slam Weekend at Tomball Little League! It is always an exciting day for the kids. They parade through Tomball showing off their new teams..excited about the year to come. This year Zach is on the Astros! Guess who is Team Mom..lucky me! It's ok the worst part is over! We got to the lot early and got out float..I mean trailer all decorated up. The boys were all into helping blow up the balloons.. well maybe playing with them.. but we got it all decorated up. This year like every other year the weather well.. cold and rainny.. really no different then the past years.. but it made the parade fast this year 20 mins! It was fun and the boys had a blast.
