First College visit..University of NORTH TEXAS!!

We were so lucky (and excited) to take Brenden to his first college visit.  He has a list of about 4 colleges that he is thinking about going to next year so Tim thought it would be neat to try to take him to a few football games so he could see the band and the atmosphere of the schools he is thinking about going to.. so first stop.. University of North Texas in Denton, TX.  So Saturday morning bright and early we were on our way.  I had arranged for my best friends sister Sarah (who I love and still think of as that little girl who was always smiling) to show us around and give us a little insight into what goes on there.  So before we got up there I had gotten a hold of her and she said she was going to be able to meet us after she was done eating with some friends of hers it was great because we hadn't eatten either so I had told her we were going to eat also and that we could meet up around 2.  She told me a couple of good places to eat around town and we decided to take her up on one of her suggestions.. it was called Fuzzys Taco shop (while looking for the link I have discovered they have them many places around Texas) oh my goodness!!  Let me just say you have to order the crawfish taco SO GOOD!!! So we ate and then it was on the the bookstore.. well we had to get some gear for the game...so Brenden got him a shirt, cups, key chain.. and Zach well you know him he had to have a jersey and a football.. anyways they got their stuff then it was on to meet Sarah!!  She was a great tour guide for us she showed Brenden the music building, the music dorm (which we ended up getting to listen to some people doing a jam session..I know Brenden could have sat in there for ever but we had to get moving on), then she show is student union, told him lots of good things about some of there tradions and just different things he would need to know about the university.  I'm so glad that I had gotten her to do that for him and I think he was too.  We got a lot of information in just a short time but we were all going to the game so we all had to go.  We had enough time to get to the hotel and get checked in then it was on the game.. let me just say.. if he goes here we are going to have to get a parking pass and we are going to be doing a lot of tailgating!  They do serious tailgating out there and because of this they don't let you park in the parking lot so we had to park a ways a way (which after walking all over the University this was not so fun) but we got there and we had great seats.  They were playing Rice University, this was a great game!  They opened up the game with 3 men parachuting down with the US, Texas, and North Texas flags...

there was GREEN everywhere!

look at all those freckles.. you can tell I was out in the sun all day..

It was a great game and they played hard but they ended up losing by 1 point!  But it was great for Brenden to see everything I think he was really impressed.  It felt like a small town feel even though it has everything that he will need.  We will see if this is his pick.. One last photo.. I had to get him in one since the trip was for him!  Thought this was a prefect place...
