Astros.. another tough loss

This year has been rough.. we have only had 2 wins but I have to say these boys have really improved over the past two months.  Zach has really improved his hitting and getting so much better as a catcher.  Zach has really had a good year.. he has gotten quite a few outs and has gotten at least 1 score a game which is great. 

This past Saturday we played the Yankees and here are a few pictures from the game.

First Communion

This past weekend Zach made his First Communion.  This is something that he has worked for the past two years.  He had to learn 5 prayers, had 2 retreats with Nuns and lots and lots of practice.  But he made it through it all and made us so proud on Saturday.  Here is my announcement I made for him and a few pictures from the night.

This one is special to me because Shelly is one of my older cousin's who was always like a big sister to me since they lived down the street from me.  Well when she pregnant with Blake she asked me to be his Godmother, I was just 20 years old and I thought that was so special that she asked me to be his Godmother.  So I always knew when I had a baby she was going to be their Godmother and so when Zach was Baptised I got a picture of the 4 of us so I knew I wanted a new one.

Blake is so cute!  He loves the fact his is a head taller than me.. everyone is taller than me!!

Nolan, Travis, Zachary and Trevor - These boys are cousins born within 6 months of each other... aren't they cute.. This weekend coming up will be Nolan's First Communion.

After the service (and photos) it was on to Rudy's for some yummy BBQ and some Lindy's cake!!

We are so proud of Zachary and so happy we were able to share this special time with our family.. I'm sure there was one in Heaven with a front row seat beaming from ear to ear.

Astro Photo

So for the past two years I have taken photos of all of the kids on Zach's team and then made every player a 5X7 of a photo with them and then usually would add their names to it.  This is my one little special thing I do for all of them.  This year was no different.. here is what what did.

Game ball!!

Tonight Zach and his fellow Astros played the Mets and WON!!!  This was only their 2nd win of the year.  Those boys were so excited!!  Zach is still playing catcher and getting so much better at it.  He is really starting to catch the balls and he is watching that 3rd base.. The game we had Tuesday he got a couple of boys out on 3rd but today he got 3 boys out and the coach on the other team told his boys not to steal to home because he saw Zach was watching and getting the boys out.  He has also been hitting the ball so well also!  He was up to bat 4 times tonight and all 4 times he hit the ball and got on base.  So after the game was over and we won the coach got them together and Zach got his first game ball!  He was so excited and would not put that ball down.  We have been so proud of him!  He are a few pictures from tonights game.

What did the Easter Bunny leave?

The Easter bunny didn't bring the right candy to our house.. he brought peanut butter eggs like he always does but this year Zachary was not happy about it.. silly bunny!!  oh well he will know for next time... He did bring The Muppets movie which Zach was very happy about and some chocolate bunnies which he loved too.  He did his annual hunt around the living room and made out with the candy and some money.. After we hunted eggs I took Tim to the ER.. he had been hurting all night and I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything too bad.  Ended up he had a pretty bad stomach bug so they gave him some meds to keep him from getting sick.  After we got home the boys and I went with Aunt Deb to my cousin's house to celebrate with the family.  Tim stayed home and slept all day.. which I knew he needed.  Overall it was a pretty good Easter just wish Tim wouldn't have gotten sick.

Decorating Eggs with my Boys

The other day Zach and Tim were in Kroger's and Zach told him he wanted to decorate some eggs for Easter, this was something we have never done so today while out getting a few things we got some dye and eggs.  Brenden came this afternoon to spend Easter with us so Zach was excited his brother was going to help him.  I got a dozen and a half to do and I think Zach could have done a dozen more!  He loved it and I think Brenden did too!  It was fun to have both of the boys here and it was fun to hear them laugh and giggle at each other..

Step Forward to Cure TSC

It's that time again.. time to fundraise for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.  This is a special organization to Tim and me because my little cousin Skylar, suffers from this disorder.  She has dealt with this all of her almost 13 years here on earth.  She is a beautiful little girl and it kills me and my other family members that she has to deal with this along with her family. 

There have been so many advances to how they treat this disorder since we began walking in 2004.  Many of those new treatments and medicines Skylar has benifited from.  Thanks to many of you who have helped me and Tim each year raise money for TSC because to us we have seen where it has helped Skylar!  We always appreciate what we are able to raise for them and I know that my cousin Shelly (Sky's mom) is thankful too!
