Opening Weekend of Bow Season

This was opening weekend of Bow Season here in Texas so we went since we had no SHSU game to go to and see brother.  Tim got a bow last year but didn't get any deer with it so he was hoping that this would be the year.  We got there late Friday night so they would be ready the next morning.  Tim and Zach were up early and out in the stand.  They came back with nothing but said they had saw some deer.   It was pretty nasty around there since it had rained the night before and was raining off and on all day.  But it didn't matter to them.

Zach got some new snake boots.. he told us they were snake skin boots.. I think he misunderstood his daddy and his Nanny nor I could tell him any different so we let him believe... he wanted me to tak a picture of the front and back of them... what do you think?  pretty cute huh.. I'm just proud they will protect them in case he does see a snake!  That is scary!  Brenden and Tim saw one one time I it always made me nervous when they would go out I didn't want anything to get my baby.. I knew Tim would shoot it so I wasn't as worried about him.

 Showing me how to shoot..

Out again to see if they could get anything..

They came back and what do you know Zach's (and my) four wheeler can have a deer follow it! When we bought the four wheeler we sent a text to my father-in-law with a picture of Zach on it and put Zach wants to see if his four wheeler can bring a deer behind it.

Today they were back at it early this morning and look what Zach brought home...

Which one looks more prouder?

All I can say is when we go back we will be taking Zach's gun with us, this will be his first time to shoot a deer.. if his was this excited about Tim's what will he be like with his?  It should be fun.

I had to take a few nature pictures too this was my favorite this time..

First Project of the Year

Yesterday we were doing some things around town just enjoying a weekend at home (Sam played an away game.. and we lost... ugh!) anyways we stopped at hobby lobby because I wanted to get a few things for a project I found on Pinterest and Zach goes are you getting the poster for my project?  I nicely go.. What project?  I'm sure DziaDzia and Grandma are enjoying that sentence.. yes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!  We have a little procrastinator (hopefully I spelled that right).  He had the paper in his backpack but I guess I didn't check it very well this week so I didn't see it.  So he begins to tell me about the project and that they have to make a timeline from the events that happened in his life.  So we got everything we needed yesterday and this morning we started the project.

He had to pick 6 events write the date and a sentence that explained what happened, so he picked:
  1. Birth
  2. Getting Zoe
  3. Going to Disney
  4. Starting Kindergarten
  5. Baseball Championship
  6. First sleepover for 8th birthday

I helped him cut some scrapbook paper to make his line and to put behind his pictures but he did everything else. I think he did a good job and I know he is proud of it.. but I told him please don't wait until the day before a project is due to tell me about it... let's hope he listens!!

SHSU vs Baylor ... yes you read that right..

Well this year we will be facing two big school's.. Texas A&M and Baylor.. last week was the first of these and it was Baylor.  We decided to go up really early and do some tailgating... well we were there so early that we were the first bearkat fans!  They weren't even sure where to put us.. but we found a great place and later we had many bearkat fans around us.

Halftime.. look at that score!

no Brenden.. They didn't bring the band with them..

In the end we fell apart in the last quarter.. it was sad to watch because we played so good the whole game. But as Tim said when you have held down the big boys for a long time it is hard to keep holding them down.  I hated for them to lose and Zach really took it hard but I know we have the rest of the season still.  I'm still very proud of how they played!!

Eat'em Up Kats!!

The first game of the year was last week against Incarnate Word which is out of San Antonio.  It was great to start football again!  This year we decided to tailgate before the game and that turned out to be a great idea.  We did Kobasas for the first time out, they were great.  We called Brenden and told him to come get some food and he did and brought his friend with him which Zach enjoyed because he played with him while they were there.

Our SWEET new signs!

Brenden left so he could get ready for the game early so he could get ready for the game.  An hour before the game starts the band marchs our for the mini pep-rally with the cheerleaders.

Notice Brenden's orange glasses.. those would be his brother's.. he put them on when he was with us and forgot he had them on his head when he left so we had to trade them out before he walked in the stadium.

When they come in the stadium they march around playing the fight song.
