Like my background..
I made it!! I have been dying to figure out how to make my own backgrounds and I figured it out! I've been doing my own headers for a while now so I thought I had to learn how to do the backgrounds so I can do my own matching up of headers and backgrounds. It did take a bit to get the Happy New Year and 2011 to line up correctly but got it down and can't wait to see what else I come up with this year! Let me know what you think! As soon as I figure out the best way to share the scripts I will pass them along!
Visit to SHSU!!
Tuesday we decided we would go to see the campus of Sam Houston since it looks like that will be where Brenden will be going next year (Eat'em up Kats!) I wanted to show Brenden the buildings and help him figure out which 3 dorms would be the best to put for his choices. So first stop was the bookstore, this is usually my first stop when going to Huntsville because you never can have enough shirts or stuff! So I got me a sweatshirt for those cold game days next year and the boys both got shirts and of course a bunch of other things it was fun getting Brenden and Zach stuff! Then it was on to walking the campus that was great there wasn't a lot of people on campus so we got a few pictures told him a little history of some of the buildings and told him what classes were in the buildings. Then it was on to driving around and looking at the dorms, I think his has his choices down, now we just need to get his future roommate on the same page. Then it was on to see if Fuzzy's was open yet (remember this place I talked about it when we went to North Texas it was so good.. well now there is going to be one in Huntsville! Yippy!) it wasn't open but I bet the next time we are there it will be! So we went to Humprey's instead and boy was it GOOD!!! We drove around a little more and the drove back home. It was a fun day with the boys and especially since it was in one of my favorite towns!

Maddy and Brycen
A couple of weeks ago I got the opportunity to take some pictures of my cousins kids Maddy and Brycen. We almost didn't get to take pictures as Brycen decided to have a little accident where his face turned bright red with splotshes (spelling?) but we pushed the session back an hour and did a little photoshop and got some pretty good pictures. What do you think?
also made them a little Christmas card..

Christmas 2010
This year we had Gram-maw, DziaDzia, Aunt Deb, and Uncle Jon over our house Christmas Eve. We all met at church this year at St. Edwards as this is where we have been going lately since that is where Zach will make his Holy Communion next year (2012). It was great they had a little play like we used to have at St. James (did you know I played Mary one year?) it was cute seeing the kids go down the asle..just wish I could have seen up front but they had everyone standing so I couldn't see. Then afterwards it was on to our house where we ate Taco Cabana and it was so good. We watched a little football and laughed about college times and the fun Brenden will be having soon and then it was present time!
Then it was time for Santa to come and work his magic...
Santa must have known that we were planning on changing Zach's room to a Texans/Texas Longhorns/football room because he brought him some some penants and a cool Texans game chair.

Brenden got quite a few things for his new truck which was also part of his Christmas presents from us.
Brenden got a really good printer (I wish I got one!!) it is a wireless one! Just what a college bound kid needs!
Santa left a little surprise for Zach outside too!!!
Brenden at The Continental Club
Last Sunday we were treated to a great concert by Brenden's Jazz band called the Jazz Connection which his private lessons teacher is the leader of. It is a great band full of mostly high schoolers but also a middle schooler and a few adults. They have performed at the Montgomery Wine Fest this past fall and was great there so I knew this was going to be fun too. They performed at The Continental Club in Downtown Houston. It is a great little jazz club off of Main. They played for 3 hours taking a few 15 mins breaks. There were lots of Christmas songs played but also a few of those great standard jazz tunes. The band was great and performed like they had been playing in clubs for years. Many people got in the grove and got out on the dance floor it was fun to watch them swing.

He put a L for me and a Z for him and the other side has a T for his dad and B for his brother.. now everyone will know who lives in the house...

Christmas with the Johnson Family
We did Christmas with Tim's family this past weekend. We picked up Brenden on our way and got there before lunch. Tim's brother Thomas, his wife Jamie and our niece Carlie was already there. Presents began not long after we got there. Each kid got a present a piece.
Carlie likes to cook and will enter contest so they thought a grilling set was perfect for her.
Brenden got a shaving kit.
Zach got a stocking full of candy and trinket toys
Brenden opened his next present and found a note.. it said to ask them where his present was...and this is what he got...
They thought it might be good for college.
I got a foot and hand spa and a coke blanket.
Uncle Thomas and Aunt Jamie bought Zach a bow.. that he loved...

They also got him a 3D deer target that you had to blow up..
Uncle Thomas was a trooper and he blew up the deer for him.. I'm going to spare him and not share that funny picture with you.. let me say it looked a little x-rated but it was SO FUNNY!
His name is Coach Buck (they got the name from a movie we watch with Jeff Foxworthy about Deer hunting)
