Zoo with the Eric and Erin

When Mark, Melissa and the kids came over for Halloween, Melissa said they had gotten a membership to the Houston Zoo this year and that we were going to have to go with them while we were off for Christmas.. So Tuesday Brenden, Zachary and I met them at the zoo.  It was great to see them and we had a great time looking at all the neat animals.  Zach had a blast hanging out with the kids.  I didn't take a bunch of picture but I did get a few of the kids and then a few of the animals.

Here the kids are in the mole holes..

This is the best I got of all of them.. wish they would have looked at me!!

Then it was on to the petting zoo.. they had baby goats in there.

We couldn't go by the carousal without riding!

How cute is he.. his name is Tucker and he is 6 yrs old.  He was doing tricks for us and he was just so cute!!!

We had a great time and are glad they asked us to go with them!  Thanks Mark and Melissa!!

Christmas 2011

Well Can you believe Christmas has been here and gone.. Where has this year gone? I mean it has been a blur!

Christmas Eve we always go to church with my parents (Gram-maw & Dzia Dzia) and Aunt Deb and then we go back to our house or their house. This year it was my parents church and then back to their house. Church was nice Zach enjoys getting to ring his bells during the songs, they make it fun for the kids since it is really the mass for them. Long ago we used to have a pagent (I was even Mary one year) along with the Childrens choir singing but they no longer do the pagent but it is fun to hear the kids sing still. After the mass we went back to there house where we ate homemade chili and tamales and of course opened our presents from them.

Zach got the transformers that he had circled in Gram-maw's toy magizine.
I got the T-shirt I have been wanting!!
We enjoyed spending time with everyone but had to get home so we could go to sleep so Santa could come and see us!!
Zach got home and quickly put on his pjs and then put out his cookies and milk for Santa. This year he decided to also write Santa a note.
The Note said: Dear Santa, I hope you enjoyed the cookies and milk. Love Zachary, P.S Could you take a picture of Comet.
After we got the cookies and milk out it was time to put out the reindeer food that he had gotten from church..
It was time to get in bed so Santa didn't skip over our house! Zach went to sleep and magically Santa came and left lots of good stuff for Zach and a note..

Santa wanted to make sure Zachary knew how much he appreciated Zachary's help this month. We as a family decided to adopt a family. The family had 3 kids the oldest being Zach's age and the youngest being named Zachary. This family also had a mother that has been dealing with Cancer for the past 3 years so we knew this was the prefect family for us. Zachary decided that he wanted to help us give and so he gave up his money that he got from the tooth fairy and many other places. We were so proud of him.. how many kids his age would give up their money that they had worked for. He helped pick out toys for all of them and when it came time to pay he gave his money and we gave ours (we did put his money back up for him but we wanted him to get the feeling he helped). We couldn't be more prouder of our little boy! So Santa wanted him to know that he was proud of him too.

Zach was up bright and early on Christmas morning! I had told him to come and get us and then we could all go and see what he got.. Well about 5:30 I feel him tapping me and telling me wake up momma! I tried to convience him to lay down and sleep a little longer but he was not having this.. if you have ever been in my house you know to get from his room to ours you can see into the living room.. well I hear him tell Tim.. Santa brought me a telescope and it is red and black.. I saw it when I looked from my side.. cute huh? So we knew we had to get up and go check out what the big man brought!

Ok so remember it is 5:30 am...I didn't think about what setting I had the camera on and well I got horrible pictures so the next few will be in B&W.. I then realized what they were looking like a fixed it.. ugh!

Zach wanted a telescope and a longhorn watch so we let Santa get the telescope and we got the watch.. he was so proud of it after the picture I had to put it on him.

We all got Texans shirts!!

Tim got him his hunting backpack along with some calls so he will be ready for next year when hopefully he gets his first deer.

After we opened everything we got dressed and it was on to Granny and Paw-Paw's for lunch. We had a great time seeing them and Aunt Laine, Uncle Bubba and Steven. Brenden also joined us there for lunch which was an added bonus! After dinner and a little bit of visiting we left and stopped by Aunt Rosie and Uncle Bennie's. We visited a bit with them and everyone else and I even got a bag a goodies when I left.. She makes these chocolate cookies with oatmeal that are to die for!!! Lucky me!!!
We left so we could get home and let Brenden open his presents.
He got some shirts and jeans.

and some music stuff he was wanting.. this is a cleaning kit...

and this is to take care of his reeds..
It was a great Christmas!

SHSU vs Montana.. win this and it is FCS Championship Time!!

This past Friday was Sam Houston's final playoff game, if we won this it is on to the FCS Championship in Frisco!  We all knew this was going to be a tough game, Montana is always in the FCS playoffs!  Plus, when some of the Montana State people were walking out of the stadium they said "Good Luck next week Montana is TOUGH!  So we knew we were in for a good game and let me say they didn't disappoint!

Of course we were there for the tailgating and to watch the band before they walked in the stadium.  Zach was able to get a sign to hold up..

I was playing around with my camera while we were waiting for Brenden and the band to march over to the stadium and I took a few photos of the stadium, coliseum and library..

Then we watched the band come down and do their mini pep rally like they normally do.

Then it was time to go into the stadium and start the game!!

It was also night of graduation..so many new alums come to cheer on there new alma mater.

Halftime was next!!!

WE WON!!!!  Never did I ever think Sam Houston would be undefeated (14-0) let alone going to the Championship!  When I went there the football team wasn't very good they had gotten better by the time Deb got there but still didn't think they would have the season that they have had this year.  As a alumni I couldn't be more prouder of them and of my school!  As a mom of a student I couldn't be more happier for him that he gets to experience this all in his first year.
After all of the Montana players got off of the field the kids went crazy and got on the field but I have to say they all were orderly about it.

Next game is January 7th in Frisco, TX!  You know the game sold out in 3 days!!!  They will be taking on North Dakota and this will be their first time to the big game too.

Yellow Belt

Two weeks ago Zach tested for his next belt which is the color YELLOW (for the Sun as he says).  Last week we found out that he has passed!  They were going to do the belt cermony on Friday night but we were going to the Sam Houston game so we knew we were not going to be able to make it.  But tonight they after his class he received his belt.  We are so proud of him!

Here are some pictures I took during class..

This is a medicine ball, they were trying to get them to keep their hands up to guard their faces so they were making them keep this above their head while doing squats.. Zach wasn't so good at this.. he was not wanting to do the squats and was complaining of the ball being heavy.. it was cute when I caught him doing it half way I made him start squating.  He is so funny!!

Congratulations Zachary!!!
