Saturday was a big day for Brenden. He has decided that Sam Houston will be his school next year (Yippy!). He is planning on majoring in Music Education but first he had to try out to see if they would accept (Deachi did I use that right?!? haha) him in the department. He has already been accepted to the school but in order to major in Music he had to try out for them. This is also where they decide if they are going to give him any money..but we won't hear about that until a little later. So he had to be there at 8:30 and then they gave them their times from there. He got 9:30 which was great because he had time to warm up. Tim and his mom were so nervous but he was actually doing pretty good. So he practiced and then 15 mins before his time he went down and got ready to go in. All of us were outside the room and we couldn't hear a thing.. then he walks out and he was shaking and sweating and smiling.. He goes.. I nailed it.. then he told us that the director didn't hear everything but he wanted to talk to him after he hear a few more auditions. He was so excited and we were all so excited for him.. While we were waiting the Jazz director came by and told Brenden that he wanted to talk to him when he had a chance. Brenden did get to talk to the head director and he told him that he wanted to start lessons with him now because he felt Brenden would be in the top tier band when he got there so he wanted him to be ready for that. That was exciting news and you could see Brenden was just on cloud 9. He came back to us and told us what the director said and we were just busting at the seams for him. Then the Jazz director had him come and talk to him and actually play for him too which Brenden didn't think he was going to have to do but he said he did really good for him too. We are just so excited for him and SO PROUD of him.

Mam-Maw
Grandma
© Augustine Perez
Thank you for the gift of love,
now you're sharing it up above.
You had many things to say.
All in a caring way.
You always saw good in everyone,
No matter what they've done.
You were always the one we could all lean on.
Even though it must have felt like a ton.
You were always the strength of the family.
Now we must let you rest calmly.
As we say goodbye,
as tears roll down our eyes.
I know your place in heaven has a good view.
Because you're telling God,
I need to keep an eye on a few.
I know you will always be in our hearts and mind.
So Grandma,
I must go, but I'll never forget you're one of a kind.

Zach's library book
So last week Tim email's me some pictures.. he had told me that he had taken some pictures of Zach's library books and I couldn't figure out why he had done that but when I got into my office I opened the first picture and this is what I found..
For all of you who know me you know I can not STAND the cowboys! So the fact that I was going to have to read this to him was funny! So I emailed my sister Deb (who is the BIGGEST cowboy fan I know) and sent her the picture and asked when she would be coming over to read this to her nephew.. Well I ended up reading it to him but the whole time I would make comments about it.. I later find out that Tim emailed Deb and told her that she should be there listening to me read the book with my little comments.. it was funny.. When Tim asked him what made you get this book he claimed he was looking for a Jets book which is believable since he loves the Jets but this week we got another Cowboy book.. UGH! Anyone want to come read it to him .. it is even thicker then this one.. I think he just wants to watch me cringe as I read it to him! I guess I did cause this I asked him to bring home something besides dinosaur books.. I never can pronouce their names!!!

Kaylee and Nolan spend the night!
Friday night we had two visitors spend the night with us. One was Nolan who has spent the night with us many times and the other was Kaylee his little sister. Zach was thrilled to have someone spend the night with him but two was even better for him! Nolan and Zach mostly played the Wii and played in Zach's room. Kaylee mostly played with some balloons we had and watched hot dog (aka Micky Mouse Clubhouse). We had a blast with her she would just giggle over the balloon falling on her and she always wanted to know what the boys were doing. This was her first night to spend with us and she didn't give us any trouble. I took a few pictures of the boys and Kaylee Saturday morning..
We enjoyed having them and can't wait to have them again soon!

Zach's tent
Last weekend Zach wanted all the blankets in the house so he could make a tent in his room.. I think he did pretty good at making it..

Funny little boy..
We bought these to put in his room and this is what he wanted to do with them..
Here is what I had in mind for them..
They fit perfectly!
funny little boy.. oh did you notice.. we lost another tooth...if you are counting we are up to four in one month.. luckily this is the last loose tooth.. the Tooth Fairy is greatful also for this!
Have a good week!
New Room
Zach asked us before school started if he could change his room.. something about Lightening McQueen being for babies are something like that.. can you belive.. he had a great room before... but he was ready for a football room.. so Tim and I thought about it and we couldn't decide should we do Texans, Longhorns (which he loves) or all the NFL teams and college teams so we decided to do mostly Texans and Longhorns but we did add a little bit of all the other NFL teams and we couldn't leave out Sam Houston!! So here is what we came up with..
we bought a few fatheads..
We decided to surprise Zachary so we told him to stay in the living room until we were done so he walked in with his eyes closed..

We have added a few things since it was completed to make it even better but really this room is something that any little boy (and even big boy/girl.. Tim and I wish this was our room) would love to have.
Happy New Year!!!
Ok let's start with where have I been.. I understand I have a fan out there that has been checking the blog quite a bit and is ready for some new stuff (hi Mackenzie!!)... so I have been busy.. I have lots of things going on right now but I'm finding time to up date everyone now!
New Years was great! We drove to Willis and got some fireworks from the Willis Band fire stand (it is actually a store off of hwy 75) We got some advice on which were the best they had and we got to see brother which is always a treat! We invited our neighbors down the street to come and watch and Brittany and Maverick came you may remember Maverick as he has made an appearance along with his sisters Mackenzie (hi again) and Makayla *** Remember *** so we went ahead and got out a little earlier then them and started with some good sparklers!
We were also joined by some more neighbors Mia and Donna (you will remember Mia from some Halloween pictures)
We had a blast with the sparklers and snappers.. and the fireworks were awesome!
